Asian Sweet Chili Sauce

Ingredients for 1 serving(s):

  • 1 gram crushed red pepper
  • 6 grams rice wine vinegar
  • 2 grams ginger paste
  • 50 grams water (for sauce)
  • 50 grams sugar
  • 13.7 grams tomato paste
  • 6.6 grams minced garlic
  • 0.5 gram salt
  • 11 grams water (for corn starch)
  • 2.6 grams corn starch

Instructions:

  1. In a blender, combine crushed red peppers, rice wine vinegar, ginger paste, water (specified for the sauce), sugar, tomato paste, and minced garlic. Blend these ingredients until the mixture is smooth.

  2. In a separate small bowl or cup, mix water (designated for the thickener) and cornstarch to create a slurry.

  3. Transfer the blended sauce mixture to a pot and bring it to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to a simmer and gradually stir in the cornstarch slurry. Continue to stir frequently to prevent lumps from forming and ensure the sauce thickens evenly.

  4. Add this sauce to any Asian style dishes.
