Belgian Waffles

Instructions:

  1. Beat the egg in a small bowl until light and frothy. This step helps create a fluffy texture in your waffles.

  2. In a separate large bowl, combine all the weighed-out dry ingredients and mix well.

  3. Melt the butter in the microwave or on the stove, then set it aside to cool slightly.

  4. In another bowl, combine the milks and vanilla. Stir until well blended.

  5. Slowly pour the milk mixture into the dry ingredients while mixing on low speed until fully incorporated. Then, gently fold in the beaten egg and melted butter. Be careful not to overmix—keeping the egg fluffy is key to light, airy waffles.

  6. Preheat your waffle maker according to its instructions. Once ready, pour in the required amount of batter (mine takes 7/8 cup). Cook until golden brown and crisp.

  7. For the best texture, let the waffles cool briefly on a cookie rack—this keeps the outside crisp while maintaining a soft, chewy center.

  8. Serve warm with butter, honey, maple syrup, or fresh fruit for the ultimate Belgian waffle experience. Enjoy!
