Cinnamon Apples

Ingredients for 1 serving(s):

  • 153 grams of Granny Smith apples (weigh after cored and peeled)
  • 16.1 grams of unsalted butter
  • 32 grams of water
  • 2.4 grams of corn starch
  • 1.3 grams of vanilla extract
  • 0.2 grams of salt
  • 30.3 grams of brown sugar
  • 1.4 grams of cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Slice the apples about 3/8 inch (about 1 cm) to 1/2 inch (about 1.3 cm) thick, making sure to remove the core.

  2. In a large skillet, combine the apple slices with unsalted butter. Cook over low-medium heat for approximately 6-7 minutes.

  3. In a bowl, mix water, cornstarch, vanilla extract, and salt until the mixture is smooth and free of clumps. Then, pour this mixture over the apples in the skillet.

  4. Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon over the apples, distributing evenly.

  5. Continue cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes on medium heat until the mixture reaches a boil and thickens. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
