Cranberry Sauce
Ingredients for 1 batch(es):
- 150 grams of white sugar
- 125 grams of orange juice
- 120 grams of water
- 340 grams of fresh cranberries
- 0.5 grams of salt
- 1 count of cinnamon sticks (1 per serving)
- 1 count of orange peel slice (just a small portion of the orange rind per serving)
1 batch yields about 2 cups of cranberry sauce.
Instructions:
In a large saucepan, combine sugar, orange juice, and water. Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
Add the cranberries to the saucepan along with salt, a cinnamon stick, and orange peel strip.
Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring often.
Continue to cook for about 10 minutes, until most of the cranberries have softened and opened up. You can leave a few cranberries intact for varied texture.
Remove from heat and let the sauce cool for at least 30 minutes at room temperature. Then cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
The sauce can be prepared up to 3 days in advance, making it a convenient option for holiday planning.
