Creamy Basil

Ingredients:

  • 10 grams of unsalted butter
  • 1.4 grams of minced garlic
  • 30 grams of water
  • 0.6 grams of chicken bouillon powder
  • 65 grams of heavy cream
  • 12.5 grams of fresh parmesan
  • 0.2 grams of black pepper
  • 3.4 grams of chopped fresh basil
  • 20 grams of cold water (for slurry)
  • 5 grams of corn starch (for slurry)

Instructions:

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add a bit of olive oil or butter. Add the garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

  2. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring to loosen any browned bits from the pan.

  3. Stir in the cream, bringing it to a slight boil. Let it simmer for a few seconds, then reduce the heat to low.

  4. Add the Parmesan cheese, chopped basil, and a pinch of pepper, stirring to combine.

  5. In a small bowl, mix cold water and cornstarch until smooth. Add this mixture to the sauce, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.

  6. Serve the sauce warm over your favorite dish, and enjoy the rich, creamy flavor!
