Italian: Creamy Basil Chicken

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Slice each chicken breast in half horizontally to create two even pieces. Place the chicken in a bowl, season, and add milk. Let it marinate for 10-15 minutes.

  3. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and butter, being careful not to overheat the butter to avoid burning.

  4. Pour breadcrumbs into a shallow bowl. Dredge each piece of chicken in the breadcrumbs, coating thoroughly.

  5. Place the chicken in the skillet and cook each side until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Watch carefully to prevent burning.

  6. Transfer the partially cooked chicken to a prepared baking dish. Bake for about 10 minutes, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 178°F, while you prepare the basil cream sauce.

  7. To serve, plate the chicken and drizzle the creamy basil sauce over it. For full effect (and a fancy touch), add a basil leaf on top—because why not feel like a chef tonight?
