Parmesan Crusted Asparagus

Ingredients for 1 serving:

  • 135 grams of asparagus
  • 0.7 grams of paprika
  • 0.3 grams of crushed red peppers
  • 1.1 grams of salt
  • 0.5 grams of onion powder
  • 2 grams of olive oil
  • 21 grams of panko breadcrumbs
  • 22.5 grams of unsalted butter
  • 12.5 grams of fresh parmesan

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit (220 degrees Celsius).

  2. Trim about 1 inch (2.5 cm) off the bottom of the asparagus stalks. Discard the trimmings.

  3. Spread the asparagus out on a large cookie sheet.

  4. Sprinkle paprika, crushed red pepper, salt, and onion powder over the asparagus. Drizzle oil over them and toss to coat evenly.

  5. Melt the butter in a mixing bowl. Then, add breadcrumbs and parmesan. Stir these ingredients with a spoon.

  6. Evenly top the asparagus with the breadcrumb and parmesan mixture.

  7. Bake the asparagus until they have almost reached your preferred level of tenderness. Then, switch the oven to broil on low (use the equivalent broil setting if your oven uses Celsius) to crisp the breadcrumb mixture. Continue broiling until the breadcrumbs are toasted to your liking.

  8. Once the topping is golden brown, remove the asparagus from the oven and serve.
