Ingredients for 1 serving(s):

  • 198.5 grams San Marzano certified canned tomatoes
  • 0.5 grams salt
  • 2.5 grams lime juice
  • 7.5 grams jalapeno
  • 8.7 grams hatch green chilis
  • 25 grams white onion
  • 8.7 grams cilantro
  • 198.5 grams Rotel original

Cantina style thin tortilla chips (as needed for serving)

Instructions:

  1. In a blender, combine the canned San Marzano tomatoes, salt, lime juice, jalapeño, and hatch green chilis. Puree these ingredients until smooth.

    (Only puree the San Marzano tomatoes, salt, lime, and jalapeno, and hatch green chilis.)

  2. Finely chop the white onion and cilantro.

  3. Drain the excess water from the can of Rotel.

  4. Add the chopped onions, cilantro, and drained Rotel to the blender with the pureed mixture. Use the "pulse" function on the blender until the Rotel reaches your preferred level of chunkiness, taking care not to overblend into a puree.

  5. Serve with cantina-style thin tortilla chips.
