Asian: Fried Rice
Instructions:
Bring water to a boil in a pot, using the amount of water specified for the rice you are cooking. Add parboiled-style rice, then reduce the heat to a simmer and cover. Stir occasionally until the water has evaporated and the rice is fully cooked. Begin the rest of the steps while the rice is cooking.
Combine minced garlic and olive oil in a large pan but do not heat it yet. This pan should be large enough to accommodate the entire dish.
In a different pan, melt unsalted butter over low to medium heat. Once the butter is melted, add the eggs and scramble them until they are mostly set but slightly runny. Remove from heat and set aside.
Now, heat the pan with the garlic and olive oil mixture over medium heat. Sauté the garlic for about 3-5 minutes. Increase the heat to high, then add the cooked rice to the pan. Pour soy sauce over the rice, and add the scrambled eggs.
Stir the mixture well, ensuring the eggs are fully incorporated and cooked through. Add green onions according to your taste preference. Turn off the burner and serve.
